DOES LITTLE BLACK BRUSH TRAVEL?
For wedding parties, we specialize in on-site services. For all other special occasion hair and makeup services, preparation can be done in salon or on-site. We are more than happy to come to you for these services while travel fees may apply.
WHAT DOES LITTLE BLACK BRUSH CHARGE FOR HAIR & MAKEUP SERVICES? HOW MUCH ARE TRAVEL FEES?
Little Black Brush is a well-known team of artists based out of the Prairieville/Baton Rouge area. We are certified and widely trained to provide excellent services for all skin and hair types. Prices will vary depending on the occasion and location of services being provided.
Please email us to get service prices. Travel fees will vary due to the artist’s time and distance needed for services.
WHAT TYPE OF PRODUCTS DO YOU USE?
The Face – Our makeup artist specializes in airbrush foundation, yet offers traditional makeup upon request. With a fully loaded kit to suit all skin types, ages & races we will be sure you look your best. All products are used on the artist to ensure quality before using on clients. Products won't be used on a client unless the artist fully believes in them and can guarantee longevity. Between each application, all tools and products are fully sanitized up to the standard of the highest makeup counters.

DO I NEED TO BRING ANY OF MY OWN PRODUCTS? SHOULD I BRING MY OWN LASHES TO MY APPOINTMENT?
All products including skincare, makeup & hair care are fully provided by Little Black Brush to ensure your special event is stress-free. We have fully loaded kits that can accommodate all skin and hair types. We provide all the necessities; foundation, mascara, lashes, bobby pins, elastics, etc. However, we do not carry hair extensions, decorative hairpieces, or travel size hair sprays/glosses unless previously discussed in a consultation appointment.
There is no need to bring any products of your own to your makeup appointment unless specific allergies are involved.
HOW FAR IN ADVANCED DO I NEED TO BOOK?
Due to COVID-19, our booking policy has been altered, please reach out for details. Booking early will give you better opportunities for the date needed. Our team does not book dates more than 6 months out. When booking popular dates such as holidays, Mardi Gras balls, proms & homecomings, we ask to have as much notice as possible. Please email us as soon as you have a date in mind so we can accommodate you to the best of our abilities.
IS A TRIAL RUN REQUIRED BEFORE MY WEDDING?
A trial run is not required but highly encouraged! Considering we want to fulfill the bride's highest expectations for her wedding day, it is recommended to have a day for the bride and artist(s) to meet and grasp the picture of what the bride wants for her perfect day. Most of our brides also use Little Black Brush for a trial run, engagement pictures, bridal portraits, and of course the Big Day. By doing this, when the Big Day arrives, there is ZERO stress on the bride because she knows exactly the quality of work she will receive by her artist(s).
WHEN DO I WASH MY HAIR BEFORE GETTING MY HAIR STYLED FOR MY EVENT?
When doing event hair, you know your hair better than we do. With that said, it is preferred for a coarser/drier hair texture to be shampooed and blow-dried the day before the event. For thinner/airier hair we prefer it to be shampooed and blow-dried the day of the event. It is easier for the artists to dirty your hair rather than fully clean it.
HOW DO I BOOK LITTLE BLACK BRUSH FOR MY WEDDING? IS A DEPOSIT & CONTRACT REQUIRED?
The first step to booking us for your special occasion is letting us know you're interested! Please send us an email inquiry through our website or at LittleBlackBrush@gmail.com. From there we will guide you step by step with the booking process. The booking process with Little Black Brush is quite simple, we ensure little to no stress by providing all information to you and are there to answer any questions every step of the way. Once decided you would like to book Little Black Brush for you wedding we do require a deposit to hold this spot for you, with this said we do require a contract as well. All contracts are sent over to the bride prior to booking to allow the bride to fully understand what we offer. After the bride agrees to the contract, it is sent back to the artist signed with the deposit. Your date is then locked in with the artist and further details are discussed closer to dates.
CERTAIN SIZE OF BRIDAL PARTIES REQUIRED?
Bridal parties are required to have a minimum of five participates in the hair and makeup services for booking services.
CAN YOU DUPLICATE A PRINT LOOK?
We love it when clients bring us pictures, this gives us a better idea of what looks and style our client is looking for. But don't forget many pictures found online are filtered & photoshopped. Pictures are not required at your appointment; we do an excellent job investigating what you would like to achieve to make you feel as beautiful as possible.
